The creative impulse of Ying Ji comes mainly from her past memories and her present emotions. In both cases, death has been an important theme. For her, death is usually accompanied by hope. When she prepares for a photo shoot, she fuses ideas from poems and emotions into the installations and the arrangements of the filming set.
