Beautiful vintage Champagne cooler, made for the house Moët et Chandon, in Épernay.

This cooler is around covered with relief grape clusters/vines and also with the engraved text:
"MOËT & CHANDON Fondé en 1743".
Both sides are identically engraved, the ends equipped with rings that serve as handles.

Bottom is stamped by the maker, MOD MEAUX ARGIT Made in France.
Argit is an authority in champagne cooler matters and supplies to virtually all major houses.

M.O.D. stands for Metaux Ouvres et Decores, originally since 1926 a manufacturer of furniture fittings in Meaux.
After attempting to diversify production they produced silverware and purchased the ARGIT brand, the well-known maker of silver Champagne coolers

The cooler is in good condition and is still perfectly usable.
Very sought after by collectors.
