Homo Mutans is a fine 1st edition portfolio by Frank Abraham, in Dutch, French, German and English, comprising twelve tipped-in images signed by the artist and numbered from 100 copies, with 14 pages, 42 × 30 cm, published by No Publisher.
Description from the seller
A rare portfolio of twelve of Frank's images. Each is tipped onto a backing card, titled, signed by Frank and number from 100 copies.
Original stiff card boards with illustration to the front cover. A touch of marking to the covers only.
There is a single stiff sheet of yellow card, with an essay by Roger Serras and a vignette illustration to the middle of the sheet. To the reverse is a summary in French, German and English.
"Let the scales fall from the body and the blind cloths from over the eyes." Frank's work is a celebration of death and decay.
The twelve illustrations are in excellent condition.
This is a rare work. Naturally, there are only 100 copies - but we have been unable to find another copy of the complete work, and only a couple of individual prints from the portfolio available.
We are away from March 16th to April 6th inclusive, so any lots not paid for by the end of March 15th will have to await our return to be shipped. Apologies for any inconvenience
