A rare insect (Latin name: Scutigera coleoptrata) specimen preserved in amber, in excellent condition.

Burmese amber, also known as Burmite, is a fossilized tree resin primarily found in the Hukawng Valley of Myanmar. It is renowned for its exceptional ability to preserve ancient life, including insects, plants, and other organisms often trapped within it. This amber is estimated to be about 99 million years old, dating back to the Cretaceous period (before the appearance of Tyrannosaurus rex!). It is rich golden yellow with reddish-brown tones and high transparency, making it highly valued by collectors and scientists alike, providing us with a rare window into prehistoric ecosystems.

We use PE boxes to store each piece of amber to ensure its safety and ease of collection.
