An remarkable and rare fossil specimen of the extinct frog species Genibatrachus baoshanensis. This fossil dates from the Cretaceous, a period that stretched from about 145 to 66 million years ago.
The lot comprises a complete set of two plates: a positive and a negative, each measuring about 2 x 20 cm. The negative plate is the imprint of the fossil, while the positive plate shows the original, raised fossil material, providing an exceptionally detailed view of the prehistoric amphibian.
