This artwork represents a bold reinterpretation in a pop-culture key of the famous neoclassical masterpiece by Jacques-Louis David, Napoleon crosses the Great Saint Bernard. In place of the French general, we find the Dark Knight who, with the same imperious and resolute gesture, leads his black steed through the snowy peaks. The work fuses the majesty of historic painting with the darkness of modern myth: Batman's cape flaps in the wind like Napoleon's iconic red cloak, transforming the imperial ascent into a silent mission among the glaciers of the Alps.
Production method: Development of a preliminary visual-architecture using generative AI models to define composition, tonal values and color schemes, followed by a meticulous manual digital painting intervention aimed at perfecting anatomy, integrating customized textures and imprinting the artist's distinctive stylistic imprint.
The Collective: SSICK LAB We are a collective of young Italian artists about 24 years old, born and raised with visceral passion for art and pop culture.
