Description from the seller
Scientific Name:
Alanqa saharica
Location:
Kem Kem Valley, Morocco
Stage:
Cretaceous
Size:
27.5 cm
Description of the fossil:
Wing bone of Alanqa saharica, one of the most characteristic and rare pterosaurs of the Kem Kem Valley. At 27.5 cm, it is a large piece, very representative of these flying reptiles of the Cretaceous.
The bone shows small restorations and has been reassembled, something common in such pieces due to their extreme fragility. Even so, it preserves an excellent shape and a very aesthetic presence.
The pterosaur remains from Kem Kem are very difficult to obtain, especially long and complete wing bones, which makes this specimen of high interest for advanced collectors and museum exhibitions.
Restoration:
reassembled
