Danish Automobilia collection of 10 original issues of the weekly Motor (Aargang XIV, 1919), March and September–October 1919, featuring Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Fiat, in mixed condition.
Description from the seller
I would like to submit a curated archival collection of the Danish automotive weekly “Motor” (Aargang XIV, 1919) for consideration in the Automobilia category.
The collection consists of 10 original issues from 1919, covering March and September–October 1919. All issues are complete and in original condition, with visible age wear consistent with 100+ years.
Key highlights include:
• Issue No. 673 (15 March 1919) – FIAT (Società Anonima FIAT, Torino) – Danish representative Chr. Walter
• Issue No. 674 – F. Bülow & Co – Ford Motor Company, Willys-Overland, Goodyear
• Issue No. 675 – SAXON automobile
• Issue No. 700 – “3 Mercedes Sygevogne” (Mercedes ambulances)
• Issue No. 701 – FIAT
• Issue No. 705 – Auburn “Beauty Six”
These issues document the early post-World War I automotive market in Denmark and represent an important historical source for Scandinavian automotive distribution and advertising.
The set shows repeated advertising campaigns by key Danish dealers such as Chr. Walter and F. Bülow & Co, offering insight into how American and European brands entered the Danish market in 1919.
Given the historical value and strong brand presence (Ford, Fiat, Mercedes, Auburn), I believe this collection would perform best as an Automobilia / Early Automotive Advertising archive lot rather than a simple magazine listing.
Please let me know if you would prefer:
The full 10-issue archive as one curated lot
A split into premium issues (Mercedes / Auburn) and thematic sets
I will gladly provide additional photographs (interior advertising pages, printing details, condition close-ups) upon request.
Kind regards,
Sebastian
