Description from the seller
The Minox 35 camera series rightfully occupies a carved place in the collective photographic imagination as a synonym for compact and effective devices capable of delivering noteworthy results despite their small size; in fact, the various models that followed each other during production have always shared two important characteristics that remained constant over time: pocketable dimensions and the optical quality of the lenses.
That it is a masterpiece of miniaturization is beyond doubt, thanks to its weight and dimensions that make it smaller even than some 110 and 16mm cameras: the height, for example, is only slightly larger than that of a 135 roll, and the weight reduced to a few hundred grams.
The first model was marketed in 1974, after the presentation of the final prototype a year earlier, and production continued up to the brink of 2000, spanning no fewer than 21 versions; among these, three main families can be identified, which later evolved into more sub-versions:
• 35 EL, from 1974 to 1998
• 35 PL, from 1982 to 1987
• 35 ML, from 1985 to 1992
Regardless of the differences (sometimes minor) among the various models, the constants remain the extreme compactness of a camera that was roughly the same size as the small Rollei 35 but counting on half the weight thanks to the Makrolon body (a very light polycarbonate), as well as the precision of the exposure meter system and the quality of the optics (the Minotar) based on the sharp Tessar four-lens arrangement.
