Description from the seller
My pieces are designed to be companions rather than possessions.
I give my objects organic, animated characteristics, hoping that people will grow attached to them like pets.
"Vincent Decat is an artist-designer based in Paris, a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, who explores the boundaries between design and sculpture. He considers the durability of an object not only through its materials, but above all through the emotional bond it evokes. By making his objects almost alive, they become companions that one must take care of, keep and cherish."
Aorta is a chair that awakens the senses.
The veins that run through it and envelop it invite touch and interaction. This network of vessels, which traverses the entire structure and extends from it, makes the piece alive and brings contact with the object.
It is composed of a metal frame covered with clay and plaster.
The piece is functional and endowed with a tall seat.
It deliberately features cracks, bearing witness to its artisanal crafting.
