Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Rare British Victorian ceramic planter from the second half of the 19th century, with four figures on each face and an interior metal basket, solid overall but with small base chips and minor top flaws, numbered on the bottom.
Description from the seller
A very rare ceramic jardinière, of British Victorian origin, from the second half of the 19th century.
With depictions of four gentlemen on each of the faces, they seem to be scholars, well-known people, but I cannot say that with absolute certainty.
Structurally it is very solid, very robust; however it has small chips on the base that I showed in the photos. I took many photos to convey the true condition of the piece, which, overall, is fairly good.
Inside it holds a metal basket, the original, which has no holes in the bottom; that part is sound. It has two flaws at the top which I also showed in the photos; these flaws are not important to the piece’s functionality.
Numbered on the bottom.
A fantastic piece.
