Highlights of this lot:
Excellent preservation: Rated by NGC at the top grade MS 65 (Mint State). This means: full strike details, no meaningful bagmarks, and flawless preservation under the patina.
Characterful original patina: This specimen features a beautiful, dark cabinet patina. This natural tint is proof of decades of protected storage and lends the coin a historically authentic, noble appearance. Under oblique light, the original mint bloom often shines through.
Muldenhütten (Mintmark E): The coin comes from the renowned Saxon state mint Muldenhütten. Pieces with the “E” are known for their sharp relief and high striking quality. In MS 65 condition, this piece is a rare find for any discerning type collector.
Investment quality: Coins in the “Gem Mint” range (MS 65 and higher) with untouched original surfaces are value-stable and highly sought after at international auctions.
