Description from the seller
Large Bronze / Brass Base with Lions – Former Cathedral Candlestick Base – 18 kg
Impressive and heavy decorative base made of bronze / brass, featuring three sculpted lions arranged symmetrically around the central structure.
The piece originally served as the base of a large cathedral candlestick, most likely part of ecclesiastical interior decoration. The lions are finely sculpted with expressive faces, detailed manes and powerful paws, giving the object a strong architectural presence.
Due to its solid weight of approximately 18 kg and diameter of about 50 cm, the piece is extremely stable and suitable not only as a collectible but also for creative interior design applications.
Today it offers excellent potential for artistic reuse, for example as:
• a unique table base with a glass or stone top
• a decorative sculptural pedestal
• a statement centerpiece in classical or eclectic interiors
The surface shows a beautiful aged patina consistent with age and use, adding character and authenticity to the piece.
A remarkable decorative object combining architectural sculpture, craftsmanship and functional design potential.
Specifications
• Material: Bronze / Brass
• Weight: approx. 18 kg
• Diameter: approx. 50 cm
• Design: three sculpted lions
• Condition: good antique condition with age-related wear and patina
A striking and versatile piece suitable for collectors, designers or anyone looking to create a truly unique furniture element.
