Description from the seller
Junghans – Table clock with alarm – Germany – Art Deco – 1930s
Elegant table clock produced by the historic German manufacturer Junghans, one of the most important European clockmakers of the 20th century.
The clock dates from around the 1930s and is made in a refined dark wooden case polished to a shine, with fluted side columns typical of the Art Deco style.
The movement is mechanical, manual-wind and is equipped with an alarm function adjustable via the small inner dial.
The alarm activates an original metal bell located at the bottom of the clock, well visible in the photographs. This system produces the classic metallic sound of mechanical alarms from that era.
The Junghans movement is complete and original, with brass gears and a mechanism visible inside the case. The mechanism needs servicing; the hands move and then stop.
