Napolitan Half-Moon Console, Louis-Philippe in Rosewood
Elegant Italian console of Neapolitan craftsmanship in the Louis-Philippe style, crafted in solid rosewood in the second half of the nineteenth century. The half-moon-shaped top is crowned by a grey marble slab, inset and perfectly fitted to the wavy profile of the structure.
The underside fascia presents a linear yet harmoniously contoured edge, enhanced by the warm grain of the rosewood. The structure rests on three supports: two curved front legs with scroll feet and a forward-placed central leg, adorned with a substantial carved element featuring floral motifs and volutes. In the center, a refined cartouche-shaped carved ornament with vegetal motifs further enriches the front.
The base is completed by a contoured connecting shelf, which provides stability and a sense of dynamism to the whole piece.
