One authentic Italian Mascioca butcher block, made of solid beech, with a 50×50 cm square top and 90 cm overall height, dating from 1930–1940 in an industrial design style with a amber patina and metal bands.
Description from the seller
Authentic and Rare Butcher Block (Mascioca) from the early 1900s.
An iconic piece of Lombard butcher history, perfect for industrial decor, rustic-chic style, or as a central feature in a design kitchen. Made in SOLID BEECH, the finest hard wood traditionally used for butcher blocks. It is renowned for its hardness, density and ability to withstand wear and the violent blows of the knife. The working surface is crafted in end-grain wood, where the fibers run vertically, which reduces blade wear and extends the block’s life.
Weight and Stability: A very heavy piece, a guarantee of the quality and density of the beech wood used, ensuring stability and sturdiness.
Industrial Aesthetics: Features a beautiful amber patina, reinforced by metal bands sealing the top block, giving it a unique, historic character.
Perfect Square Top (50x50 cm): The symmetrical shape makes it ideal as a kitchen island, service table, or accent cabinet.
Functional Measurements Detail:
Height: 90 cm - Perfect as a kitchen island or modern work surface.
Width: 50 cm - Compact dimensions, not bulky.
Depth: 50 cm - Perfectly square and balanced top.
Conditions:
The block is in antique condition and bears the marks of time and use (such as cuts, inscriptions and cracks on the top), which enhance its charm and authenticity. Ideal for:
Industrial antique object collectors.
Movers/ designers looking for a “statement” piece for lofts or modern kitchens.
Restaurants or butcher shops seeking an authentic display piece.
