A very decorative and impressive antique wall mirror in richly carved wood, executed in neo-Renaissance style and dating from the late- to early-20th century. The mirror is exceptionally richly decorated with numerous sculptural elements, including griffins, mascarons, floral ornaments and classical scroll motifs. At the top there is a central sculpture with a mythological creature and floral crown, flanked by two griffins. Along the sides we also see decorative masks and ornaments.
The whole is made in wood with partial gilding and patina, giving the piece a very characterful and authentic appearance. Due to its large size, this mirror is a real eye-catcher in a classic interior, hallway, salon, or hospitality setting. The mirror is in good vintage condition, with normal signs of use and wear to the gilding and the wood appropriate for the age. This contributes to the authentic look of the object.
