Joseph Henri Baptiste Lebasque, known as Henri Lebasque, born in Champigné in 1865 and died in Le Cannet in 1937, was a French painter and printmaker.
Henri Lebasque began his studies at the regional school of fine arts in Angers before moving to Paris where he enrolled at the Colarossi Academy in 1886. He collaborated with Ferdinand Humbert on the frescoes of the Pantheon in Paris for six years starting in 1888. He exhibited at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français, at the Salon des Indépendants, and he allied with Maximilien Luce and Paul Signac. He exhibited at the Salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. He encountered the Impressionists, notably in 1894 Camille Pissarro, whom he visited until his death in 1903, and who had a great influence on him, and Auguste Renoir.
Lebasque was one of the founders of the Salon d'Automne.
