Description from the seller
Ensemble Audiophile CD Teac CD-5 - GOLD -
Tube preamplifier PJ MIAOLAI P3
NOS USA JAN 5654 tubes W
HQ mini headphones
This TEAC CD-5 - GOLD - CD player stands out for its unique conical-based design.
A vibration-damping structure, both rigid and massive, eliminates undesirable effects from vibrations and resonances.
On the CD-5, a 1.6 mm thick steel damper weighing 1.1 kg is fixed to the top plate, while another of 1.2 mm thickness is used for the bottom plate. The increased rigidity and weight of the top and bottom faces give the chassis exceptional sturdiness.
The front panel, made of 5 mm thick solid aluminum, features a reduced number of controls.
The digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) section uses the Philips SAA7350 DAC and employs a 4-DAC 1-bit configuration, thereby in principle eliminating nonlinear distortion and crossover distortion.
The digital filter uses 8x oversampling on 20 bits.
The central positioning of the CD mechanism provides a low center of gravity and good mass balance, improving vibration resistance.
Additionally, the servo system (digital) and the audio system (analog) are separated by a mechanical separation to avoid interference between the left and right circuits.
A CN servo motor is integrated to reduce the impact of the current perturbations it generates on the analog system.
In this circuit, the actuator’s supply voltage is filtered by a high-precision low-pass filter to eliminate undesirable noise components other than the control current.
It is equipped with the TFHS (Track Forcus Holding System) mechanism which ensures stable, jump-free audio playback.
In case of a scratch or dust on the disc, the tracking error signals (up/down) and focusing signals (left/right) are read accurately, and the signal from the preceding track area is preserved by the cartridge. After the scratched/dusty area passes, playback immediately resumes at the next point on the same track, thus avoiding any unpleasant audio dropouts.
It uses carefully selected audio components, such as electrolytic capacitors and power transformers.
Moreover, the resistance across the entire surface is ensured by a precision photoelectric cell, used for measurement devices. A resistance variation within ±1% over a temperature range of 50 ppm/°C guarantees stable operation.
The unit features a time-editing function.
This function automatically calculates and programs the number of tracks to record on sides A and B when copying a CD to a cassette, based on the tape length, and automatically adjusts this number to fit the duration.
By connecting the device to a cassette deck compatible with CD synchronization via an optional cable, synchronized CD-to-cassette copying is possible.
It includes a random-access memory capable of storing up to 20 songs and a program-delete function.
It has a track-skip function allowing you to start the current song and the next one with a single press.
It also features a bookmark lock function that lets you search for tracks without holding down the fast-forward/rewind buttons. It offers
4 repeat modes: 1 track, all tracks, program, A and B.
A 3-mode time counter displays elapsed time, remaining time for a track, and total remaining time.
It incorporates features such as automatic spacing, index search, music search, and programmed playback.
The exterior face presents a textured finish with metallic scratches.
The black model features a rubberized contoured edge.
A wireless remote control is included.
This remote includes a pitch correction function allowing you to adjust the pitch by up to ±12% in 1% steps.
