Lot of four documents and manuscripts dating from the 16th to the 19th century, in Latin, in good condition, comprising a 1596 papal decree from Pope Clement VIII, an official 1686 tax-collection act in Milan, an 1815 inheritance matter of the Collaredo family, and an ecclesiastical document issued by the curia of Cardinal Maury in 1805.
Description from the seller
Lot of documents and manuscripts thus composed:
1) Pontifical decree issued by Pope Clement VIII dated 1596, three pages in a 32 x 22 cm format. It is a legal and administrative act concerning the recovery of debts and the forced sale of assets belonging to nobles and feudal lords. The frontispiece bears the coat of arms of Pope Clement VIII (Fam. Aldobrandini).
2) Official act of tax collection issued in Milan in 1686. Size 25 x 18 cm. The printed text is a writ of payment for overdue taxes, while the handwritten part specifies the debtor and the amount due.
3) Document concerning legal and administrative matters related to the inheritance of the noble Collaredo family, dated Udine, 20 October 1815. Size 35 x 23 cm on two pages. Noteworthy is the notary’s dry seal with the motto "Consilia Non Vulganda" (the advice/secrets must not be disclosed).
4) Ecclesiastical document issued by the curia of Jean Siffrein Maury, an influential cardinal and bishop of the Napoleonic era. Issued by the diocese of Montefiascone on 18 February 1805. Size 26 x 18 cm.
