The Vespa 125 VN1T, produced by Piaggio between 1954 and 1955, is one of the most iconic models of the "Low Headlamp" series. It succeeds the VM series and is characterized by some technical and stylistic innovations that make it a highly sought-after piece for collectors.
Main Technical Features
Engine: 2-stroke single-cylinder of 123.7 cm³ with forced air cooling.
Performance: Maximum power of about 4.5 HP at 5,000 rpm.
Gearbox: 3-speed manual with handlebar control.
Fuel: Dell'Orto TA 18C or TA 18E carburetor, operating with a 5% oil mixture.
Chassis: 8-inch wheels (tires 3.50 x 8") and drum brakes on both axles (front Ø124 mm, rear Ø126 mm).
Tank Capacity: 6.25 liters.
Weight: Approximately 85 kg dry.
Production and Numbering
The production of the VN1T was divided into two main lots:
1954: From frame 01001 to 023000.
1955: From frame 023001 to 050100.
In total about 50,100 units were produced before moving to the next model, the VN2T.
