Able to serve as an occasional table or small side table, this carved African stool features a statue bearing the traditional scarifications. The top, in a golden mahogany color, is inlaid with brass studs forming circular decorative motifs.

This stool, named lupona, or kioni or kipona, kiona, constitutes the meeting point where past and present mingle symbolically and spiritually. It formerly served as the seat on which the king mulopwe was enthroned.
