Two antique wooden speculaas boards from circa 1875, one larger single-sided plank and one smaller double-sided plank, the larger carved with a mounted rider holding a large curved sword and the smaller featuring Prince William III on one side and Mary Stuart on the other, both with fine carving, originating from the Netherlands, large plank 34×26 cm and small plank 28×10 cm, both in good used condition with minor signs of aging and spots.

Dimensions above are those of the large single-sided board; the dimensions of the small double-sided board are 28 by 10 cm.
What you see in our photos are two antique speculaas boards, a larger and a smaller one. The smaller one is double-sided carved.
The large board: this depicts a cavalryman on horseback. The cavalryman has in his hand a large curved sword. The board is intact, has some wormholes, but contains no living worms anymore.
The small board: on one side is Prince William III and on the other side Mary Stuart is carved. These two names at that time often stood for a bachelor and a spinster. This board also features high-quality carving and has no wormholes.
