The Beomaster 2000 is an advanced receiver with a power output of 2 x 25 watts RMS and radio coverage on the longwave, mediumwave, and FM bands. Four FM stations could be programmed for direct access. There is also an option to program one AM station.
The low-distortion stereo amplifier included a new feature unique to Bang & Olufsen: Automatic Power Handling Control (APHC). This technique continuously monitored the dynamic range and power of the signal. If the combined effect threatened to cause amplifier clipping or damage to the speakers, the APHC circuit instructed the device’s microcomputer to lower the volume to a safe level.
All primary functions are operated with the fingertips on the Beomaster’s Sensitouch control panel. There were no knobs or push-buttons to press. The status of all controls is displayed on a backlit display. Secondary controls are protected by an automatically opening flap that is opened by touching the front of the unit.
