Description from the seller
Glass vinegar and oil cruets in Murano glass and silver – bird figure
Elegant and original pair of oil and vinegar cruets shaped like birds, made with hand-blown Murano artistic glass in deep green and red, combined with finely worked silver mounts and caps.
Each piece features a stylized sculptural form reminiscent of a fantastic bird. The body is made of artistic glass with soft reliefs and internal veins characteristic of Murano glass, while the top represents the bird's head, crafted in silver with meticulously chased details and with gold-toned elements on the beak and wings, creating a very elegant decorative contrast.
The birds' legs, also made of silver, support the glass body, providing stability and a very distinctive sculptural character. The heads function as removable caps.
This type of piece was produced by a well-known Madrid-based firm specializing in decorative silver figures, combining traditional silversmith techniques with Italian artistic glass.
These are rare and highly decorative pieces, ideal for both a collection and a design table or decorative-art display case.
The pieces are in very good condition, showing only slight signs of aging and a natural patina on the silver, in keeping with their age and use.
The glass is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
