Two antique coffee mills – wood and cast iron – Europe – early 20th century

Lot consisting of two old manual coffee grinders with a metal crank and a turned wooden knob.

The first model features a wooden body with dovetail joints and a front drawer, typical of European domestic grinders from the early 20th century.
The second model is a fully metallic mill with ribbed decoration, also equipped with an original crank.

These mills were used in kitchens to grind coffee beans before infusion. Wooden models with a drawer and a cast iron mechanism were very common in European households at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.
