Large Antique Silver-Plated Toast Rack – Mappin & Webb – England, circa 1910
A fine large antique silver-plated toast rack made in England around 1910 by the prestigious firm Mappin & Webb, one of the leading British silversmiths of the period.
The top is engraved with a heraldic crest, featuring two seahorses supporting a shield and the motto “Per Mare Ubique” (“By sea everywhere”).
The rack is solidly constructed and provides evenly spaced divisions (2 cm each), suitable for serving toast or slices of cake in an elegant manner.
