Description from the seller

Magnificent and elegant cabinet.
Exceptionally well executed.
High-quality cabinetry work.
The style is Directoire – transitional period from Louis XVI to Empire, around 1790.
'Singlely curved', the lower cabinet only bulges outward under a curve.
Beautifully worked legs on the corners – see detail photos.
Nice inlay on the doors – above a crossed torch and an arrow bundle, here the martial ornamentation toward the Empire begins.
Napoleon takes shape and the later wars.

The hood has an open pediment – borrowed from classical Antiquity.
In that opening an artistically carved urn.

Beautiful and extensive interior with many drawers.
Three inner drawers have a special lining for (silver) cutlery.
The drawers are all nicely lined and still look almost new, which is why I leave them as is.
The buyer will surely appreciate this. If not, you can easily remove it.
Also see the special fittings, large round handles cast in brass – 10 cm in diameter.
The drawers all run smoothly.
All drawers have the original locks and keys that work well.
No visible restorations.
In top condition.
The cabinet can be taken apart and will be shipped in sections.
You must assemble it yourself. It is not difficult.

Transport:
In the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, France and Spain we transport the furniture in packing blankets and set it inside. For other countries we place it on a wooden pallet in sturdy cardboard and waterproof film up to the doorstep.
For islands we charge a higher rate; delivery is to the door, please help because the driver is alone, the driver may not go inside or up the stairs.
The carrier will contact you directly to arrange delivery.
He has your phone number and email address.

>>> These transports usually do not have a track and trace system.
I provide a dummy code for Catawiki’s computer system.
You cannot track the transport.
Take photos of the packaging upon receipt to rule out damage during transit.
Usually it is not possible to ship within three days; you may ignore Catawiki’s reminders.
Usually it takes three to seven days in transit.
You approve and sign for good receipt with the driver.
Any damage must be reported immediately on this form.
That is required for insurance.
Damage occurring afterward is at your own risk.
An empty form means good receipt.
The carrier will call you to make a delivery appointment.
You are free to arrange the transport yourself as well; please indicate this in your payment to Catawiki.

For non-European countries you must pay extra customs charges and there are additional clearance and administrative costs. For non-European countries I quote one amount for convenience, but the amounts may vary.
I’d be happy to inform you. Please contact me.
