Description from the seller

Pair of wooden bookends with deer crafted by the German sculptor Edmund Keller (1888-1963)

They are dated 1945 and signed by the artist

Provenance: the city of Pfalz (Germany)

Dimensions of each bookend: approximately 30 x 28 cm

They are in generally good condition considering the era, with normal and slight signs of wear. It is noted that some dowels under the feet of the deer are missing (see photo)
