PAIR OF SOLID SILVER DUSTING SPOONS (STRAWBERRY SPOONS OR SUGAR-DUSTING SPOONS)
Period: Late 19th – Early 20th Century (Art Nouveau & Louis XV Style)
Origin: France
Material: Solid silver (Minerva hallmark, 1st standard - .950) to be verified
Description of the lot:
Set of two service spoons (strawberry spoons or sugar-dusting spoons) showcasing remarkable silversmithing work.
1. Art Nouveau Model (Left):
• Bowl: Circular, adorned with a decorative repertoire in an organic style. Superb radiating piercing work with motifs of flames or stylized foliage.
• Handle: Guilloché wavy decoration on the spatula, offering a textured and elegant grip.
2. Shell & Fillets Model (Right):
• Bowl: Shaped like a stylized shell, richly pierced with clover and floral stem motifs. Fine chasing work on the scalloped edges.
• Handle: Fillets and violin-arched contours, typical of classical French elegance.
Condition:
• Very good overall condition.
• Presence of fineness marks (Minerva) and silversmith marks in lozenges (to be identified precisely).
• Light normal signs of use for the period, beautiful original patina.
