Description from the seller

37 cm with the stand

This week I’m sharing with you a remarkable collection of objects gathered in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the 2000s by a traveler with a discerning knowledge of traditional arts.

These are pieces that are coming out for the first time, never exhibited or offered for sale before.

Among this collection, must-sees: a beautiful large Nkishi Basongye; a Bakongo figure without hands; a Katanda statuette with raised arms used in Bwami rites; a very beautiful janiform Buyu Bembe head; an ancient Bakongo crucifix; a Songye pipe and a Bakongo beautifully carved; a Kela statue with incomparable aesthetics; a Lengola statue with a geometric body; a Nyanga mask; somewhat unsettling; very fine Chokwe masks; a rare two-faced miniature Lega mask and other objects yet.

Additionally, I am offering in parallel a set of high-quality Dan masks. A moment’s look at their shapes and the inner face is enough to realize the quality of the objects.

The packaging is meticulous, shipping is handled by Bpost, which offers service above average at a competitive price.
