Description from the seller

Tile panel / quatrefoil with pomegranates and calendulas – polychrome – 1600-1650

Small tile panel (2×2) consisting of four adjoining hand-painted wall tiles, executed in a quarter-quatrefoil composition that together forms a full quatrefoil. The décor shows pomegranates and floral motifs, surrounded by stylized leaf and tendril ornaments. Executed in polychrome decoration on tin-glazed earthenware (faience/majolica).

Based on style and execution, dated to the first half of the 17th century (1600-1650) Netherlands.

The glaze shows signs of use and age, including a few small old restorations and effects, these appropriate to the age and contribute to the authentic character of the object. View the photos to see the tiles and form your own impression of the condition.
