Description from the seller

[Anonymous Manuscript]. On the Olympics.

Italy, second half of the 17th century.

Elegant seventeenth‑century manuscript in Latin with interesting historical notes on the Olympic Games, accompanied by quotations from texts in which the Olympics are discussed and by historical events that in some way referred to that tradition (which, as a reminder, historically lies between 776 BC and 393 AD and resumes in 1896 at the initiative of Count de Coubertin).

Manuscript on paper (300×110 mm). 13 unnumbered pages, of which 6 are blank. Rustic cardboard binding rebound.
