Djenne-pottery - Mali

Four antique pieces of pottery from the Djenne-region of central Mali. These items can be found when the Niger-river floods wash away layers of sand covering ancient sites. Beautiful red engobe. Some items have scratches.
The low bowl has decorations on the rim and on the bottom. Diam.; 18 cm.
The small pot is 10 x 12 cm in dim. The small pointed flask is 10,5 x 8 cm in dim. Finally the small round pot is 11,5 x 6 cm in dim. The Djeno-period dates from around the 17th-18th Cent. Collected in Djenné in the late 1990`s and from a private Dutch collection.
