AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Set of three decorative Batik stamps traditionally used for printing fabrics with pigment or dye. This technique has been used for centuries in India and Indonesia, among others, to create patterns on textiles, sarongs and other fabrics.

The blocks are made of wood and partly equipped with metal strips that form the fine lines of the pattern. The designs feature various decorative motifs, including floral and geometric patterns.

The back side of one block still has an original handle and lattice structure, typical for traditional printing blocks.
Due to their rich ornamentation and signs of use, these blocks are nowadays also highly sought after as decorative wall objects or collectible items for lovers of ethnographic art.
