Egermann Bohemian crystal hand-painted vase, 36 cm high with 13 cm width and depth, featuring blue, red, turquoise and multicolour enamel with 24-karat gold on a Czech-made, unused condition piece.
Description from the seller
This exceptional hand-painted Bohemian crystal vase with a height of 36 cm represents the finest traditions of decorative glassmaking from Northern Bohemia.
The vase is richly decorated with a spectacular ornamental design combining deep royal blue, vivid red, turquoise accents and extensive gilding, creating a luxurious and almost regal appearance. Every detail of the decoration is applied by hand using traditional enamel painting techniques, which require extraordinary precision and artistic skill.
The decoration is further enhanced with 24-karat gold, carefully applied by hand and then fired in a kiln to permanently fuse the gold with the crystal surface. Creating such a piece was a highly demanding process. Objects of this level often required many dozens or even hundreds of hours of work by experienced glass painters, as each color layer and gold detail had to be applied and fired separately.
The style of the ornamentation draws inspiration from the long tradition of the Nový Bor glassmaking region, which became internationally famous through the innovations of Friedrich Egermann. Similar richly decorated crystal pieces were later produced by renowned artistic studios such as Exbor, known for creating exceptional decorative glass intended for collectors and prestigious interiors.
The pattern itself carries a subtle oriental influence, which was particularly popular for luxury export pieces. Comparable hand-painted and gilded Bohemian crystal vases were often produced for export markets in the Middle East, especially for Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar, where richly decorated crystal objects were highly appreciated in royal and representative interiors.
The vase is made from high-quality Bohemian crystal, a material internationally admired for its clarity, brilliance and the way it beautifully reflects and refracts light. With its impressive 36 cm height, the vase has a strong visual presence and functions perfectly as a decorative centerpiece or stand-alone art object, even without flowers.
This particular piece is in completely new condition. It has never been used and comes originally packed in its original box, which is also in excellent condition without any damage. The crystal surface, hand-painted decoration and gold ornamentation remain perfectly preserved, with no chips, cracks, scratches or signs of wear.
Objects of this quality are today primarily found in private collections, prestigious interiors and museum glass collections, as they represent the combination of traditional Bohemian glassmaking and extremely demanding hand-painted decoration.
This vase therefore represents not only a luxurious decorative object, but also a collector-grade example of Bohemian crystal artistry and craftsmanship.
