Description from the seller

Beautiful old tabacco pipe of the Chokwe people living in Angola/Congo.
Ex collection of Malcolm Blair, a collector in the UK.
Now in my personal Dutch collection.

Use of tabacco was widespread among the Congo people and smoke was an internal part of offers to the ghosts (ajimu).
Richly decorated with figures and scenes of villagelife. In this case it is a woman with her hands on her breasts.

Material: wood, metal (aluminium).
The wooden base coms with the piece.
