Description from the seller

Elegant French Louis XV Style Armchair – Carved Beechwood with Cane Back and Seat – Mid 20th Century

Elegant armchair executed in the Louis XV style, crafted in solid wood with refined hand-carved details.

The chair features the characteristic flowing cabriole legs, shaped armrests and decorative carving on the apron and crest. The backrest is finished with traditional hand-woven cane (cannage), which is also present in the original seat structure beneath the removable cushion.

This type of armchair was widely produced in France and Belgium during the mid-20th century, inspired by the classic 18th-century Louis XV designs.

The warm patina of the wood and the elegant curves give the chair a refined and timeless appearance.

Condition:
Good structural condition. The cane backrest is intact and firm. Visible wear and patina on the armrests and frame consistent with age and use. The seat cushion is removable.
