This pair of cloisonné enamel vases, Chinese-manufactured in the mid-20th century, features a classic baluster shape with a flared neck and edges finished in gilded brass. The body is entirely decorated with a dense motif of filigree clusters, interrupted by wide shield-shaped reserves on a vivid turquoise background. Within these windows are depicted lively naturalistic scenes: on one side lush chrysanthemum blooms and shrubs, and on the other a prunus branch in bloom with butterflies in flight, rendered in polychrome enamels.
Dimensions (each): 38 x 18 x 18 cm
Good condition, with some natural signs of age and material defects, as shown in the photographs. The piece shows evident signs of time that attest to its authenticity, including faint lines and other small imperfections typical of vintage vases.
