This hand-knotted Oriental rug showcases a classic Kashmir-Tabriz design from India, distinguished by its very fine ornamentation and dense floral structure, giving it an elegant and detailed appearance.

The central field is dominated by a large medallion motif, executed in red, golden-yellow, and light blue hues. Surrounding this medallion is a dense network of floral tendrils, blossoms, and small ornamental elements, symmetrically distributed across the entire field.

The background around the medallion features a fine scatter-flower pattern of numerous small blossom rosettes, rendered in yellowish, cream, and light blue tones. This pattern lends the rug a very delicate and even texture.

The surrounding border is set on a dark blue ground and displays a rich floral ornamental band with stylized blossoms, palmettes, and geometrically arranged ornamental forms. The motifs appear in cream, golden-yellow, and light blue tones and are framed by narrower side borders.

Through the combination of central medallion, dense floral decor, and the contrasting border, the rug possesses a very classical Persian elegance, as is often found in finely crafted Kashmir rugs.
