Fully revised YAMAHA CA-2000 amplifier
The Yamaha CA-2000 is a high-quality, rare vintage integrated amplifier from the late 1970s (c. 1977-1979), known for its excellent build quality and 'Natural Sound'. It delivers 120W per channel (8Ω) in Class AB or 30W in pure Class A.
Key features:
Class A/AB switch: Provides the choice between pure Class A for audiophile performance (warmer sound, more heat) and a powerful Class AB.
Design: Features an elegant wooden case, precision meters, and a minimalist look.

The Yamaha CA-2000 is a vintage high-fidelity stereo integrated amplifier that was released in 1976 in Japan, during the 'Golden Age' of Japanese high-fidelity audio equipment.
Like other Yamaha devices from this glorious period, the CA-2000 offers superb sound quality. The overall circuit configuration consists of an equalizer amplifier, tone-control amplifier, DC amplifier, class B, class A, a power amplifier (volume control), and a preamplifier for turntables and MC cartridges.
The equalizer amplifier, tone-control amplifier, and the MC preamplifier share nearly the same circuit configuration as the fantastic Yamaha C-2. The first stage consists of a differential amplifier with Yamaha's original ultra-low-noise FET. The amplifier has a nominal power of 120 Wpc (8 ohm, class B) and 30 Wpc (class A). The amplifier produces a beautiful sound. If you are looking for a beautiful vintage Japanese integrated amplifier (at a great price!), be sure to check this out. The knobs turn smoothly and the switches snap into place pleasantly. The sound quality, especially of the phono equalizer, is highly valued, making this an amplifier we are happy to recommend to vinyl enthusiasts.
This Yamaha was completely revised at the end of 2025, with the following maintenance work performed:
- Adjustment of the output stage (DC offset, idle torque)
- Contact cleaning
- Cleaning of relay contacts
- Solder corrections
- Replacement of LED for meter lamp (blue LED)
- Replacement of components: transistor replacements (power, equalizer, output board), replacement of small and medium electrolytic capacitors (power, equalizer board)
- Replacement of speaker terminals with improved contact;
- Cleaning of interior and exterior
After this full revision, the operating status is confirmed:
- The sound output of each selector PHONO1 (MC and MM), PHONO 2 (MM), TUNER, AUX, TAPE 1 and TAPE 2;
- Operation of the power amplifier in class A and class B;
- Check of the tone control
- MUTE/ATT editing;
- Operation of speakers A and B;
- Sound through the main headphone jack.
- Operation of the progress and source input
- The operation of the VU meters;
- The operation of the VU meter lighting;
- Smooth volume and balance control;
- Smooth bass and treble controls
Moreover, it has been thoroughly tested and checked by a professional technician who performed the renovation. I can guarantee perfect operation.
