This Chalcedony Freeform impresses with a unique color composition of warm golden yellow, deep black and soft white. The flowing, natural patterns harmonize perfectly with the polished surface, making the stone's details and structures stand out especially.

Size: 197x132x73 mm

Origin: Madagascar
It is fossil wood dating back 200 million years; all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were gradually replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and, more rarely, opal. Without the organic parts, all living matter was replaced by stone: there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have transformed the wood: silicon. And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in common language.
