Description from the seller
An exceptional centerpiece for lovers of noble textiles and Mid-Century design.
This spectacular table ensemble from the 1950s is a rare testament to artisanal craftsmanship, entirely handmade. It consists of an oversized tablecloth and 12 matching napkins, all in a “deadstock” (new-old-stock) condition.
Material and Weaving:
The base is a heavy cotton canvas (or linen/cotton blend) with a rustic grain, traditionally woven. The texture is dense, heavy, and it drapes impeccably. The natural white of the fabric has undergone no alteration.
Embroidery:
The geometric design, very modern for its time, consists of diamonds and triangles embroidered in flat stitch.
• Colors: Deep black and Burnt Sienna (brick red).
• Technique: The embroidery is done in relief, adding a tactile and luxurious dimension to the piece.
• Finishes: The napkins are finished with artisanal fringes achieved by manual fraying of the warp.
Dimensions:
• XXL Tablecloth: 2.90 m x 1.40 m (Perfect for a reception table of 10 to 12 place settings).
• 12 Napkins: 46 cm x 38 cm.
State:
• Perfect condition. No defects, no stains, no wear. This piece has been preserved with the greatest care. The white remains bright and the embroidery colors
