- Inscriptions: On the obverse appears the national coat of arms of Latvia with two heraldic animals (a lion and a griffin) and the inscription "LATVIJAS REPUBLIKA". On the reverse, the nominal value "2 LATI" is surrounded by a laurel wreath, with the date "1925" at the bottom.

This coin was issued during the early years of Latvia's independence, after World War I, and is part of the first numismatic issues of the Republic of Latvia.
