Mantel clock - Wood, Brass - 1930-1940

Vintage Swiss mantel clock, likely from the 1920s-1940s, equipped with a high-quality mechanical movement from Fabrique d’Horlogerie de Fontainemelon SA (FHF) – a historic Swiss ebauche manufacturer (since 1793, later integrated into Ebauches SA then ETA).

On the movement’s backplate, an engraved snowflake (snowflake mark) – trademark registered by FHF on March 3, 1917 (recognized in horological archives like NAWCC and specialized books). This confirms the premium Swiss origin of the mechanism, reliable and typical of clocks from this era exported worldwide.

Elegant case in wood (mahogany or similar) finely polished, classic shape with wavy top (style “cloud” or “ogee”), adorned with lovely inlays/decorative stringing in light wood and fan motifs at the corners. Round dial in gilded brass, guilloche or silvered center with charming age crackling, clear black Roman numerals, fine blued steel hands, central seconds hand.
