"Hanabusa Lyu (born in 1949) is a Japanese photographer originally from Takatsuki, Osaka. He began his career under the name Ryu Hanabusa (英 隆) and received his first camera from his parents at the age of seven. After studying fashion design, he worked as a photo magazine editor and as an assistant to other photographers before becoming a freelance photographer. He debuted in 1970 with his exhibition “Another Something” at the Nikon Salon in Ginza. From 1978 he spent four years in Paris, and again from 1991 for eight years, establishing his base in both Tokyo and Paris. His work includes portraits of authors, film directors, actors, and artists, as well as photography in the fields of fashion, architecture, sculpture, luxury hotels, French cuisine, landscapes, and travel. In 2008, he and Mika Ogura received the Press Merits Award from the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau for their long-term contributions to tourism in Paris.
The item is in good condition with light wear from handling or age, but remains intact and collectible.
