Antique convertible high chair for child with table – solid wood – early 20th century
Interesting and rare solid wood high chair for a child, dating from the first half of the 20th century. The piece features a sturdy and functional construction designed to transform easily from a traditional high chair into a small chair with an integrated table.
This type of convertible children’s furniture was widely used in European households between the 1920s and 1940s thanks to its practicality and versatility during different stages of childhood.
The structure is made of wood with a warm natural patina developed over time. The seat features a removable central opening typical of antique children’s high chairs. The padded backrest with fabric covering appears original and shows signs of age and wear.
The transformation mechanism allows the structure to be flipped or separated, creating a small chair with a front table. The side wheels allow the piece to be easily moved.
