Description from the seller
Set of 4 Contemporary Patchwork Cushions — RIVA STUDIO, Lisbon
This exclusive set of three cushions was created by [RIVA STUDIO] Lisbon, from the repurposing of high-quality fabric samples — including silk and velvet — coming from discontinued interior textile industry collections. Materials of high technical and aesthetic value, which would be discarded as waste, are transformed here into contemporary design objects with a strong cultural identity.
The pieces stem from a contemporary patchwork process, reinterpreting a textile tradition linked to the reuse of materials and to Portuguese domestic know-how. Fragments of different fabrics are carefully combined to create surfaces rich in texture, rhythm and composition, giving each cushion a unique and unrepeatable character.
Produced artisanally in Portugal, in collaboration with a small textile workshop, these cushions reflect a conscious design approach: reusing existing fabrics avoids new industrial processes and reduces waste, placing the project within a framework of active sustainability.
Beyond their decorative function, they are objects that add comfort and identity to the home space, combining noble materials, textile tradition and contemporary design.
Dimensions of the set:
• 4 cushions: 60 × 40 cm
Each piece is unique, a direct result of the limited availability of the fabrics used. A set that celebrates the quality of the materials, manual craftsmanship and the creative renewal of textile culture.
