Walnut wood table-top psyche mirror – Umbertine style – late 19th century
Elegant table-top psyche mirror made of solid walnut wood, characterized by refined turned elements and an upper carved decorative frieze. This type of mirror, named “psyche,” was very common from the late nineteenth century to the early twentieth century in bedrooms and on ladies’ dressing tables.
The structure features turned side columns, a solid base with a decorative crosspiece, and a central adjustable mirror, typical of this type of furniture. The woodwork and the elegant proportions evoke the Umbertine style, widespread in European furnishings between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Crafted by hand in walnut wood, this psyche mirror combines decorative value and functionality, making it ideal both as a classic furnishing element and for vintage or collectible interiors.
