Brass ship’s scissors lamp from the Netherlands, dating to 1930–1940, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and in working order.

Heavy brass scissors-like chart-reading lamp from the early 20th century. The piece is in good condition. A very handsome, rare mechanism by which the lamp can be moved forward and backward.
The lamp can be extended to about 75 centimeters. Additionally, the scissor section can be adjusted from left to right by loosening the adjustment screw in the base; the shade is also adjustable via the ball joint. The lamp is complete with a heavy brass mounting foot.
Originally used for reading charts aboard a large ship.
Equipped with a new socket, wiring with a black fabric sheath, new plug and switch. The lamp is delivered as shown in the photos with a new Edison LED bulb.
The lamp is ready to use as maritime ambiance lighting or with a stronger light source as a lamp at a desk or work surface or as a reading lamp. A real maritime showpiece.
